Introduction

Surkhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is an umbrella organization of the private sector in Surkhet district. It was established in 1981 with an objective of protecting and promoting the interests of business community and provides support for their business activities in the District to contribute to national economy. SCCI is an autonomous, non-profit making and non-political organization.  It has been registered at District Administration Office Surkhet and is also a member of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). SCCI membership list exceeds more than 2,000 members covering a municipality and 50 VDCs of the district. SCCI is persistent in providing services such as training, workshops, seminars, Trade fairs, trade exhibitions and so forth. The chamber is cooperating with the local authorities and organizations to create conducive business environment and playing significant role for the local economic development in the district. It also provides various services to the society for the integrated economic development of Nepal.

Surkhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI)  lies in the heart of Surkhet Valley at Birendranagar -06, Chamber marg. Surkhet District is one of the most beautiful and enchanting districts of Mid-western Development region of Nepal. Green dense forests and valley covered by magnificent mountains and the diverse culture is the main attraction of Surkhet. Nature has endowed this land with beauty and natural resources. It is approximately 600 kilometers west-north from the capital city Kathmandu. The temperature ranges from 5°C to 38°C from winter to summer at different locations from top hill station to plain land.

• Advocate and represent the views of its members in various commercial policies such as VAT, income tax, and other and influence concerned authorities for favorable business environment.

• Develop essential managerial skills and knowledge necessary for the promotion of industries and business concerns through training, workshops, seminars and interaction programs.

• Provide various services to the business community in order to strengthen their level of performance.

• Extend relationship with government with government, non-government agencies at international, national, regional and local levels to create favorable economic atmosphere.

• Collect and disseminate business-related information.
